Triggered places

I came across this postcard and had to laugh. Funny when you have a discussion about something rare and specific, you begin to see it everywhere you go. Like learning a new word and boom! You hear it everywhere! But you're so glad you learned the meaning cuz you can use it now and feel all smart.

My sister was standing in the pantry and she was quiet. I turn when she looks at me and tells me how odd it is that every time she stands there she dozes off and thinks. Just stares up at the shelves at all the crap we have stored in there. The peanut butter. The cereals. The olive oils, teas and variety flavored oatmeal. The year old turkey bags (my eyes always lands on this), spices, ketchup and even detergents. And they're all so comforting. Just thinking about it now soothes me. I also stand there and stare. Stare into complete oblivion and I forget what I needed in the first place. I just didn't know it was the same for her until she mentioned it. I didn't even notice it myself, really. Thinking about it now, it's a great place to go to when you're crying. I've certainly done that...and no one EVER notices. The best hiding place and even the best moment to roll your eyes at something incredulous. No one sees. Ever.

The shower is the number one place where dreams, goals, and best ideas in the universe come forth. What is it about certain places that trigger feelings?

So I'm in Target or, yes, Barnes and Nobles and I get the biggest urge to take a dump or fart. (LOL oh god, N... conversations of farting...again?!). But really, it's hugely embarrassing but I have no idea what it is about these places that confuses my bowel movements. It's like the best laxative if you're having a problem. Constipated? Go to target. (Hmm, funny....it all connects to food on shelves. I'll have to think on that more later...maybe in the pantry.) Great thing is, if you're wondering why this happens in Barnes and Nobles — grab a book and research it. I bet asking a worker to help you find one would be a riot — a plus if you ask a second after you've cut a good one.

This is just an awareness. Next time you find yourself standing in one spot very frequently and thinking for 15-20 minutes straight, going cross eyed and even drooling (is it just me?), know that that's probably your spot and remember to go there when you need to make big decisions.

It's the little things in life.

Holy moly! I never thought about it either but I feel ya sister!
The train usually makes me feel like this....sometimes I don't even wanna get out of the train in my station, cuz I just feel I wanna keep going....what a feeling, really.
I used to have that "crap in weird places" syndrome too...but now that you mention it I think it went away couple years ago, looool, but I so get you love! LOL

Another place that blows my thoughts away is benches in the gardens....if I sit on one I could sit for hours and not even notice them passing by =/ My head clears imediatly or something...so weird and comforting at the same time.
