*Does cartwheels* I swear I've been doing these all day! I MUST have lost at least 14 pounds!
I never thought I would see this day in my whole life. I never thought I would see it with my own eyes and experience it and be alive to see it! This is monumental! I've seen an extraordinary change in my generation I can tell my grand kids one day. I teared up but I did not cry. Probably because I felt a relief and when I feel relief, I just smile. I'm just happy.
I stayed up and watched the celebration in Chicago and wished I was there. I looked at my sister and told her, "Look! That's my President! *squee*" and she instantly argued, "No! He's my President!"....."Nah uh, he's mine!"...."Nah uh!" Who knew we would ever, even playfully, argue over this! LOL!
I wanted to be at the celebration so bad I took pics of the TV and it felt like I was there....almost.

338! over 150!!! I mean SERIOUSLY?!?! I thought to myself once before all this — Imagine if he won by landslide! LOLOLOL AND HE DID!!! MY LORD HE DID! See what happens when every single person goes out to vote? SEE?! I've never seen states so blue in my life on that map. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
I woke up the next morning and turned on the News and still couldn't believe it. I thought it was a dream. I felt a knot in my throat again.
I walk into work with a newspaper with Obama's face really big waving it in the air in front of the whole room and whispered/shouted "We did it!!!!" Everyone looked up shocked I even did this and laughed. LMAO. I just had to! To represent! My boss says "You know, I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. I feel like there's a catch somehow." WTF?! Whateves dude, you shouldn't have voted then, asshole. So I replied with "We'll see. Hopefully everything will go as planned." *rolls eyes* But nothing. All day no more talk of what happened. No more of anything except for one other Obama fan we have in our office who walked in with donuts and coffee and announced "For the celebration!" with a smile on her face. She's the only cool one there. After months of standing around each others desks watching videos about the election, Nothing. Everyone is like nothing happened.
Weird.
I'll celebrate by myself then. *shrug* I guess it didn't mean as much to them as it means to those who hoped for it and only dreamed it all their lives — thinking it was never going to be. But it is. Despite everyone who doesn't really care. It's ours anyhow, not their moment. Our moment. :-)
It was certainly a long run.
